Privacy Policy
The short version
Hymnos collects no data. It has no accounts, no advertising, no analytics, no tracking and no third-party SDKs, and this version of Hymnos makes no network requests of its own (subscriptions go through Apple’s App Store; see Purchases below). What you do in the app stays on your device.
What stays on your device
Everything you create or choose in Hymnos is stored only on your device, inside the app’s own storage:
- your settings (instrument, organ sound, tempo per hymn, playback options);
- your service plans;
- audio the app prepares ahead of time so a service plays smoothly (a cache the system may clear when space is short);
- a diagnostic log of what the app did (for example, which organ sound loaded and how long launch took).
We cannot see any of it. Deleting the app deletes it. If your device backs up to iCloud or a computer, this data is included in that backup under Apple’s terms, as for any app.
The diagnostic log
The log stays on your device unless you share it. Settings > About > Share debug log opens the standard iOS share sheet, so you can send it, for example by e-mail, if you want to report a problem. Nothing is sent unless you choose to share it, and only to the recipient you choose. The log describes the app’s operation (timings, which content loaded, errors) and your device model; it does not contain your name, contacts or location.
Purchases
Hymnos is free to download, and some features (making and running your own service plans) need a Hymnos Pro subscription. Subscriptions are sold and processed entirely by Apple through the App Store, under Apple’s terms and privacy policy. We never see your name, Apple ID, e-mail address or payment details. The app asks the App Store on your device whether a subscription is active, and the App Store answers with a record signed by Apple; Hymnos keeps nothing more than whether Pro is unlocked, on your device, and sends nothing to us or anyone else. Apple gives us only anonymous, aggregate sales reports. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID’s subscription settings, or in Hymnos under Settings > Hymnos Pro.
Permissions
Hymnos does not ask for access to your microphone, camera, location, contacts, photos, calendar or health data. It plays audio in the background so a hymn continues when the screen locks, and it may finish preparing audio for your service plans in the background while the device is charging; both happen entirely on your device.
Children
Hymnos is suitable for all ages. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
If a later version downloads new hymns
A future version may download additional hymns and instrument sounds. If it does, those downloads will be the same files for everyone, sent without any account or identifier, and checked against a digitally signed list before the app uses them. As with any internet request, the server that answers would see your device’s IP address and standard technical details of the request. We will update this policy, and the App Store listing, before any such version is released.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date. If the app ever begins to collect any information, we will say so here and in the App Store before it does.
